Uncut Gems (2020)

This sort of came out of nowhere, the hype came and it was blowing critics away. I can wholeheartedly see why too. It has everything that would normally make a film fantastic and recognises with the greats. I'm by no means saying it is one of the best films of the past year but it certainly deserves the praise. With an amazing cameo from The Weeknd, and then is questioned "what the fuck is The Weeknd", the picture truly captures the vibe of a struggling businessman in the modern age, but the best aspect is the fantastically beautiful scenery displayed throughout. Along with the scenery, incredible acting from all parts are noticed and it is really well put together, although there were part I believe that could have been cut out. I was surprised by the intense portrayal of the role by Adam Sandler, but 'Uncut Gems' still feels like a stereotypical film of his. But I'm not saying that is a bad thing. I was really pleased with what I saw in the film; it was gripping, interesting and emotional. I would love to see more films like this being made, where there is a development of the character made throughout, where we are presented with everything but still we don't feel as if we are fully aware. I am very impressed with this film but it could be even better...
