Prisoners (2013)

Today, 29th April 2020, I watched 'Prisoners' for the first time and it was definitely worth the wait. Before you ask 'why?' Well, there is a reason, but basically every time I have tried to watch this film, something has happened. Today, my moment came and I got to see such an incredible film. I can't even put it into words but I'm going to try. It is a perfect crime thriller and dialled up the intensity to 100 throughout the entirety of the film. Every second is accounted for and ensures, to near perfection, it has the right message about the film. We see drama, action, an incredible story and even more impressive acting from everyone involved - in particular, the two stars of the film. With small stories in the film all being relevant and significant, there is room for a follow-up. That spoils nothing, there are multiple routes they could go. I think after waiting probably too long to see this, I took the mantle of "pray for the best, but prepare for the worst". I am so glad that I have seen this in maturity rather than as a kid. I understood exactly what was going on from the moment of go and it definitely is not one you can take your eyes off of. In one final sentence: Hugh Jackman is untamed.

Currently available to stream on Netflix, or you can buy/ rent it on Google Play Movies, Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV.
