This was the easiest choice...
Is there a more talented and versatile actor out there at the moment? Amy Adams seriously is one of the most talented in the industry, and with performances in 'American Hustle', 'Man of Steel' and 'The Fighter' all accused of stealing the spotlight, the one that towers above the rest is 'Arrival'. Not only is this one of my favourite movies of all time, but Amy Adams' performance as the lead in this is one of my favourite acting outings of all-time. She is remarkable! Not only does she carry this film, but I feel like she carries so many of her other films too. I don't care what anyone says, she is one of the best things about the new Superman era. Lois Lane is so pivotal to his arc, and I couldn't have thought of anyone better to play the iconic character. Furthermore, she is so incredible at bouncing between characters, making each feel like they're her own and she isn't just playing someone. I personally think this is best shown in 'The Fighter', even throughout this film, her range is just phenomenal. Although I must say I haven't seen a poor performance from her yet, she's appeared in some of the very best films in the 21st Century.
It's odd that I can't sing someone's praises enough, but I also love how unproblematic she is. Not joking either. She is never in the news for the wrong reasons, and likewise, I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us in the next few years. Amy, keep doing what you're doing and that is constantly impressing me, thank you so much for your commitment to your roles and bringing us so many great performances.
