Damn it, this is one fine piece of cinema. I say that wholeheartedly as one of my all-time favourite films. 'Blade Runner 2049' is a masterpiece, in my opinion, and is truly one of the best films of the 2010s. During that period, nothing else came close to it in the sense of a beautifully crafted world, incredible cinematography and just jaw-dropping acting throughout. I watched this the day it came out in the cinema and just under three hours later, I was a changed person. To me, it's one of the films where you only want to watch it when you are in the mood for a fantastic film, it can't be half-watched or watched whilst playing on your phone. A friend of mine said that it was boring for having too much dialogue; I argued that is what made the film incredible. Summing up the traditional amount of action associated with this genre that is displayed in this is "half as much but twice at elegant", because this film is elegant. The pace is perfect and nothing happens that doesn't need to. I must say I was shocked at how good this was when I first watched it, but I have never looked back at this cinematic masterpiece and it will always be a film I recommend to anyone looking for a good movie to watch. I am so glad I managed to see this in the cinema, see the rich colours come through, the atmospheric sound. Let me put it simply, what makes this film so good is every fine detail is a small part of a huge painting.
